I said I don’t own Apple stuff, then he switched to offering a Samsung and even a 40% discount on my Sky bill. I gave him an email that’s not tied to any bank or anything. I finally told him he’s not in the UK and definitely not with Sky, so he can buzz off. Still can’t get why folks from places like Africa or Asia can use UK numbers like that.

Earlier today, my O2 phone rang and at first all I could make out was a bunch of noisy background chatter like you get in call centres. I was nearly about to end the call when a woman with an Indian accent suddenly came on, saying "Hello, hello, how are you?" My mum got a call from a woman speaking with an American accent from this number. She claimed there was a 50% off deal on a Tesco mobile plan and mentioned sending a text with a PIN to set up an app. Mum did get a code, but it included a Tesco warning saying not to share it. Later on, a bloke called back asking for that code, but luckily she kept it to herself.

Got a call from someone pretending to be O2, doing all the usual scammy stuff like "transferring me" to their accounts department but really just handing the phone over. They tried the old trick of offering a discount on my bill and apologising for poor service as a ploy to get my details. Ended up wasting about ten minutes of their time - not my proudest moment. I wasn’t prepared with a fake email to mess with them since they verify your email first before pushing for any personal info. Lesson learned though, I’ve got one set up now for the next round! ;)

The person on the phone was an Indian man claiming to be from Tesco Mobile. I asked why he was calling and he said something about my tariff being lowered. I told him he’s got the wrong person because I’m not even a Tesco Mobile customer and then I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent, saying she was from 'billing department'. Number was unfamiliar so I just blocked straight away.

Somebody pretending to be from EE rang me and said I could get 30% off my next bill. Then they wanted me to confirm my personal info, stuff they ought to know already. Bit odd if you ask me.

Received a rather dodgy call from this number purporting to be Tesco Mobile, suggesting I could score a whopping 50% discount on my bill for the next year. I engaged the caller in conversation as my husband did a quick search online to verify their claims! Eventually, we decided to hang up and I blocked the number!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Gamma telecom. I didn’t bother answering properly and just ended the call straight away. My number’s been on the TPS list for ages, so I’m surprised they got through. Actually, I even renewed the registration recently and included my kids’ numbers too.
