I got this call from a number that left a voicemail claiming to be HMRC. They said if I didn’t ring back, they’d issue a warrant for my arrest or something crazy like that! The recording was rubbish and very hard to understand. When I looked up the number, it only popped up on sites like this one, all saying it's a scam. Definitely not to be trusted!

Picked up the phone and heard an automated voice saying it was a last notice from HMRC, urging me to ring back to stop any legal trouble. I've had no prior contact or warnings from HMRC, so it smelt like a scam to me. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I received a rather alarming message from an automated voice, claiming to be from HMRC, stating that this was my last warning and urging me to return the call.

Got a call from 020 3893 3216 from someone speaking with a weird accent and oddly knowing my name. He asked if I could give him my debit card details so he wouldn’t have to send £482.22 as some tax refund. Yeah right! I told him HMRC only gets in touch by post and to send me any refund that way. Then he just cut the call.

I had a similar experience. The man on the line was quite pushy, and when I mentioned I couldn’t chat at that moment, he just cut me off and ended the call.

I've had a couple of calls from different numbers with this exact same message, so thankfully I wasn't tricked, just like others have said.

Just ignore and don’t ring them back! They’ll try to get you to give your card info and how much you’ve got in your account, then make you wait a bit, send messages to ‘verify’ the payment and all that nonsense. It’s all a trick to steal your money!!!

Got a call earlier today from 020 3893 3216 at about 12:18 pm (28/03/2018). It was one of those automated messages pretending to be HMRC saying I needed to call back or else face legal trouble over some supposed issue. Sounds like a classic scam trying to trick people into handing over personal info for money fraud. I've put in a complaint to the ICO through their website https://ico.org.uk/concerns/, fingers crossed they do something about it soon.

I rang them back out of curiosity. The bloke on the line claimed that if I didn't settle the payment, they’d revoke my driving licence. I told him I'd have definitely got a letter from HMRC if that was the case. He got a bit annoyed and warned me that legal action was beginning and I'd get documents within a day. His accent was really odd, too. Anyway, the numbers are blocked now. It would be great if there was somewhere to report these numbers as fraud.

Got a call on my mobile from an automated voice claiming HMRC have some case open against me. They said I’d be arrested if I didn’t ring back but didn’t actually provide a number or any reference info. The machine even said my full name, which was spooky, but there was no option to talk to a real person, just the robo message repeating itself.

Got a robo call saying it was from the HMRE, telling me to ring back right away or i’d face an arrest warrant and legal trouble. Seemed like a total scam to me.
