Got a pushy cold call from someone with a heavy accent, sounded like from the sub-continent. I nicely ordered a Chicken Tikka Bhuna with boiled rice and a special naan, but they abruptly ended the call while shouting something about me being a "filthy colonial unbeliever". Pretty sure that wasn’t Just Eat!

I received a rather pushy marketing call from someone with a strong Indian accent, trying to hawk some sort of online training programme. They simply wouldn't take no for an answer! I eventually had to cut the call short and block the number altogether. It's odd, as I've never shared my number with anyone, so I’m baffled about how they managed to get hold of it in the first place.

Here’s how to report scams easily through the system the police have set up (NFIB) for the public to flag all scam calls, texts, emails, and other fraud attempts. I found this out after talking to my MP about the loads of scam calls I kept getting. Scammers definitely don’t want you to know about this. If you don’t report these, nothing will really change to stop them. While reporting to 7726, your network provider, Ofcom, or any company being impersonated can help a bit, often the info doesn’t actually get passed on to the police’s fraud unit for possible action.

There were a couple of posts made here on 28/01 explaining why its important to report scam calls to Action Fraud. If you dont bother reporting these dodgy calls to the police, dont be surprised when they keep happening.

I received a call purporting to be from a supposed London College of Education, claiming to provide online learning for my kids. I was already suspicious, so I decided to verify the number and, unsurprisingly, it turned out to be a scam. When I picked up, there was a noticeable hesitation before he launched into his sales pitch with a thick Indian accent. He even called me yesterday using the same ruse, but the moment I questioned him, he abruptly hung up. Total sham!
