I got fed up with the old O2 scammer number so I blocked it, but guess what? They just switched to a new number. Every time, I say I’m busy at work and to call me after five, and surprisingly, they actually do!

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent pretending to be from O2, saying I could get 20% off my contract. They kept trying to pass me on to different “managers” to keep the process going. I suspected it was dodgy straight away, so I played along for a while just for laughs. Eventually I told them I knew it was a scam and ended the call. Now I’ve blocked the number!

Got a call from someone saying they were Sky Mobile, but my phone showed it might be a scam before I even answered 😂😂 They said I could get a phone upgrade with loads of perks and different phones to choose from. Weirdly, when I told them I wasn’t interested, they didn’t try to persuade me and just ended the call. Judging by what others have said here, I reckon I dodged a bullet with that one.

Got a sketchy call from India again. Weird thing was, I’d blocked the number yesterday but when it rang today it just dropped straight to voicemail and didn’t even show up as a missed call anywhere. On the voicemail, they just left the line open for a bit silent, then started chatting in some Indian language to someone else nearby. These scammers really have no shame - dunno how they sleep knowing they’re conning folk all the time 🤬

So, these guys called acting like they were from EE and wanted me to confirm a pin they claimed to have sent. Weirdly enough, the pin actually was from EE - no idea how they managed that - and with it they got into my account. Thankfully, EE emailed me straight away to say my password was changed. I then requested a new pin, reset my password, and set up two-factor authentication just to be safe.

This was an obvious scam, they kept ringing me non-stop throughout the day. I finally picked up just to see what the fuss was about. They claimed I’d paid too much on my O2 bill and now only had to pay £5 monthly for the rest of my contract. Then they asked for my email to supposedly send some kind of link. It felt like they were just trying to keep me on the line forever. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away!

Somebody called saying they were from O2 and offered a discount. I asked where they got my number from and they said it was from some database. Then I asked them who the account holder was, and they just hung up on me. I’m not even an O2 customer. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with O2, trying to pitch an unlimited data plan with a fancy new iPhone. They went on about all the costs and deals but I just said no thanks, I don’t really pay for my phone, plus I don’t even own an iPhone. They asked which phone I used, but I just refused to say and ended the call. Pretty obvious scam to me, best to block and report this number straight away.

I got two calls from this same number, so I rang them back. A lady with an Asian accent said she was offering some new Sky deal - sounded dodgy right away. Then she asked me to fill out some app on the spot over the phone, which I wasn’t having. I told her I was tied up and asked if she could ring me the next day (Friday). That’s when she suddenly started talking about paying £40 to get a guaranteed delivery of an iPhone 15 Pro Max sent straight to my place. Yeah, no thanks. I’ve blocked the numbers now. It’s perfectly fine to mess with those scammers if they call - just hang up on them straight away. Honestly, I think we have every right to irritate these fraudsters.

These scam calls are a proper nuisance. If you text the number to 7726, it flags the caller as dodgy across all networks and helps the cops keep track. For more details on how to report frauds like this, check out the Action Fraud website - really worth knowing about.

I've had quite a few calls claiming they're from O2, but it's obviously a scam.

Got a call from someone with a strong Indian accent saying they were from O2 doing a survey about overcharging. They asked if I wanted to join in, and when I said no, they kept pestering me to explain why. I told him I suspected it was a scam call. He got a bit annoyed and said there was no way I could prove that, and again, pushed me to justify myself. I once again declined to take part, and he just told me to 'go then' and hung up 😂.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise on my mobile but didn’t pick up. They didn’t leave any voicemail either. After seeing what others have said here, I’m thinking it might be a scam.

The phone kept ringing a few times before I finally answered it (three tries in total). As usual, the person on the other end started with a friendly ‘Hi there, how’s your day going?’ When I asked for their name, they didn’t give a straight answer. I just told them I was tied up and ended the call.

Just got a call from this number on my phone, didn’t know who it was, so I left it. Looking it up here, seems like I made the right choice.

Got calls from someone claiming to be Tesco Mobile, ringing me about four times today trying to sell a 45% discount. Felt dodgy to me, so I've just blocked the number.

I recently had an unsettling experience with someone from a bustling call centre who claimed to be ringing me regarding my O2 contract renewal. It struck me as rather suspicious, and I can’t shake off the feeling that they were up to no good.

Got a call claiming to be from O2 offering 40% discount, but first they asked if I was actually with O2. I felt it was dodgy so mentioned it might be a scam, but they insisted I speak with their billing team, probably trying to fish for details. Ended up hanging up since they wouldn't stop waffling. Blocked the number straight away.
