About 25 years back, I remember getting that extra insurance when buying a new washing machine or something similar. They were pretty convincing, but nowadays I reckon it’s just a scam recycling old contact lists to trick people into signing up for fake insurance or to nab their bank info.

They usually start by asking if I’m the head of the household since they’ve got no clue what my name is. Then they say they’re with Domestic Care and try to get me to remember some home appliance insurance I supposedly took out. When I ask for the address tied to the insurance, they can’t tell me. Definitely a scam!

Absolute scam, for sure. I meant it was about Home Appliances though. Before, these people would keep going for like 20 to 30 minutes nonstop. Now? They just give up after a minute or two. Totally different vibe.

SCAM alert. Got one of those calls about my home appliances again. The person kept asking how old my fridge, oven, washing machine and stuff were. I answered a few times but after a bunch of questions, she just hung up. These people don’t seem to have much patience nowadays. I used to get around 4 or 5 calls every day, now it’s down to maybe one or two.
