Typically, I steer clear of calls from numbers I don’t recognise; however, given that it was midday during school hours, I uncharacteristically answered the phone. On the other line was a woman of South Asian descent, her English was fairly comprehensible but you could tell it wasn't her first language. She began her pitch about life insurance. The moment she uttered those dreaded words (life insurance), I swiftly interrupted her, saying, “No, thank you, I’m not interested - I appreciate your time” before promptly terminating the call and blocking the number.
