didn't hear my phone ring at all, just got a voicemail alert. a woman's voice left a message, sounding quite scary, saying if i or my solicitor haven't been in touch, i should brace myself for some serious consequences. really unsettling stuff.

I think this might be one of those HMRC scams. They want you or your lawyer to ring them back on the same number. The voice on the call sounds like some kind of robotic female text-to-speech.

got a call on my mobile at about 1.40pm from a number warning me that if i or my legal advisor didnt ring them back on that number, they'd take me to court for unpaid taxes. it sounded really threatening but its just a scam so dont bother calling them back. if you’re unsure or anxious about it, just contact your actual tax office directly - you can find the real contact details on the official hmrc site or in the phone book.

this sounds like one of those hmrc scams. they want you or maybe a solicitor to phone them back on the same number. the voice on the line sounded like some robotic woman using text-to-speech.
