I recently purchased Microsoft Office online and attempted to install it through a website. Unfortunately, I encountered a few hiccups, so I decided to ring a number I found, 02038806831. On the line was a gentleman named Gary, who claimed to be from Microsoft. He requested access to my computer to conduct a scan, but I felt uneasy and promptly ended the conversation. What raised my suspicions further was his relentless probing about whether my online bills and banking were linked to my home network. That’s when it hit me-this didn't feel right at all! I quickly cut off the online session and hung up. Curious, I called back for clarification, only to speak to another person who mentioned they were affiliated with McAfee, the antivirus provider. Now I’m left questioning everything, and I plan to contact McAfee headquarters tomorrow morning to verify the legitimacy of the number 02038806831. It’s all rather unnerving, and I just need to put my mind at ease.

This is a bogus number! They pretended to be from Microsoft, offering assistance with Office installation. They tried to gain access to my laptop, clearly with ulterior motives.
