I just had a call from someone claiming to be with BT Openreach. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

I recently received a phone call from an individual claiming to be Richard Townsend, supposedly representing BT Openreach. He informed me that my IP address had been compromised while using this number. Quite concerning, to say the least!

Got a call a couple weeks ago from numbers 02039911865 and 02038805908 using 0114700964 and 01147001561. Same old rubbish story - some guy named Dennis Gray from HMRC telling me to ring back. Totally worn out line now. They say thank you and goodbye like it’s some kind of act. Their accents sound so fake and dodgy, it’s honestly more amusing than scary, like a badly done comedy skit!

My 13 year old daughter got a call from this number, and I told her she should ignore calls from unknown numbers and just check any voicemails left instead. Better to be safe than sorry with stuff like this!

I got a recorded voicemail that kicked in even before I could pick up. It didn’t really explain what the call was about, just warned me I’d face some kinda trouble if I didn’t respond. Ended it with a cheeky “have a nice day” - what jokers!

Got a message from some woman with an American accent saying she was from HMRC. She told me to get in touch with my legal advisor or there’d be serious trouble. Sounds like a proper scam to me.

I just received a call myself, much like what others have mentioned. The person claimed to be David Grey from HMRC and insisted I needed to return the call or I’d be facing legal action.

I received a rather alarming voicemail purportedly from a chap named Gray at HMRC. The message included a phone number and warned me to return the call or consult my solicitor, hinting at potential legal repercussions if I failed to act. It was all delivered in a rather mechanical voice, which only added to the unease.

Just received a call from this number moments ago. When I picked up, all I heard was this droning robotic voice - it was impossible to have a proper conversation. They just wanted me to ring them back. This makes it the second time I've had a call like this this month, although I recall the last one had a different number. Out of curiosity, I went looking into the first number I got hit with on the 6th of January, and here’s what came up: 01147001519 turns out to be a landline based in Sheffield, UK. This number has popped up in searches five times. The calls began coming in on the 7th of January 2021. Interestingly, it seems the number was checked from locations like Hounslow and Liverpool.

The voice was completely automated, rather unsettling, to be honest.

I received four calls from this number, but it only shows up as two missed calls in my notifications. Strangely enough, they didn't leave any voicemail.

Received a rather dodgy phone call from an automated voice, insisting that there was some pressing legal matter regarding me, and that I needed to get in touch with a solicitor immediately. It was all quite fishy! This is clearly a scam; you wouldn't ever receive a call of this nature from HMRC. Just ignore it and don't engage!

Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to return the call. What I ended up with was a voicemail belonging to someone named 'Michael Davis.' I've got a strong feeling this might be a bit dodgy since when I tried to reach someone named Michael Davis, they refused to connect me. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I received a rather suspicious call from this number and decided to let it ring out to voicemail. Upon listening, I was met with a rather eerie message from what sounded like a robotic woman purporting to be representing HMRC. She urged me to get in touch with a solicitor, warning that I should ‘prepare for legal repercussions’. It’s quite clear this is a scam!
