Just a couple of posts below tell you what to do if you want to put an end to these scammers ripping off vulnerable folks and pestering the rest of us. It does take some effort, but I’ve been reporting scam calls and texts straight to the police database (I even saved the address in my favourites). The thing is, it’ll only make a difference once thousands of people start doing the same, but thankfully lots do report scams here every day. Don’t expect instant results, but if nobody bothers, these scams will just carry on going on forever.

Yesterday and today I got about 5 calls, all from 118.com but from different numbers. They just wouldn’t take no for an answer. I actually ended up shouting at the last caller, who said they were a supervisor. Now I’m keeping a list next to my phone of numbers not to pick up, and it’s getting longer all the time. One of the numbers ends with 8023. My hubby even put the phone next to the loud radio, and she was still there 10 minutes later - must’ve been enjoying the music or something! Honestly, seems they’ve got nothing better to do.

Definitely a scammer, no two ways about it. Sounded like he was from somewhere near Calcutta for sure. He never even said where he was from, and after he asked who I was, I asked him the same plus where he was calling from before giving any details.
