Got a call from Tom's Gutter Cleaning earlier. Told them straight away that I wasn't interested. A bit later, an automated voicemail popped up from the same number saying we had an appointment booked for three months down the line. The details were mostly useless, packed with a load of weird links filled with # signs. They did leave a callback number though. Decided to report the whole thing to the ICO.

When I picked up, a voice said there was a text message and to press 1, so I did out of curiosity even though I was still half asleep. After that, something happened but I can't quite recall what as I wasn’t fully with it. Later on, I saw the last call on my phone wasn’t from that number at all, it showed 08456021111 instead, which freaked me out a bit coz my phone itself never actually rang!

A polite guy called saying he worked for a gutter cleaning firm and would be passing through my neck of the woods next week. He mentioned they usually charge around £120-130 but offered a discount, knocking it down to about £75. When I asked where their base was, he said Leatherhead, which is in Surrey, although the number he called from wasn’t local to that area. He said I’d get another call later to nail down the exact date and time.
