Got a call from this number on my home phone today, but the caller ID just showed the digits, no name attached. I usually don’t pick up calls unless the name is visible since I only trust numbers saved in my contacts. Calls that come through with just a number often ring for about 4 to 6 rings before hanging up. Sometimes, if the same number calls back repeatedly, I’d add it to my phonebook as something like "Scam Call 1" or "Scam Call 2," but it got a bit annoying after a while. Caller ID isn’t perfect, but it does help when flagged like that.

I received a call from what seemed to be a gutter cleaning company claiming to be "operating nearby." They ended the call abruptly when I inquired about how they obtained my telephone number, which is registered with the Telephone Preference Service. This whole situation strikes me as rather suspicious. It could possibly be a scam aimed at burglary, if I'm honest.
