I got a call from someone saying they were from DAG trying to sell me a washing machine insurance for £99 a year - which I never signed up for in the first place! When I tried calling back, the phone wouldn’t let me leave a message and the whole thing felt fishy, definitely not a proper company. After a quick search, I found this site and saw loads of others had the same experience, so I realised straight away it was just a scam. Nearly got caught out myself! The number they used was 0203 637 8435 and the caller said his name was Gabriel Murphy.

Got a call to my 90-year-old dad, who can hardly see, about some washing machine insurance renewal he’s never had. They wanted his debit card details and expiry date. Luckily, he couldn’t provide them ‘cause he can’t really see the card. Proper awful tactics if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be DAG Insurance, saying they wanted to renew my washing machine cover. Funny thing is, I've already got a policy with Domestic and General (bit of a clever name, right?). When he mentioned the price, I got a bad feeling straight away. Then he tried to sort payment and said they don’t do direct debit, only a one-off card payment. That was the final straw - I told him to cancel any "policy" and ended the call sharpish.

Totally dodgy calls. The last one was about some rubbish nuisance calls, and now they're banging on about washing machines. I asked the bloke why he's phoning up just to scam folks, and he just hung up on me. Also, the ringtone sounds really weird, like it's coming from another country or something.

Got a call about my washing machine warranty being up for renewal. Told them my machine was just a few months old but they insisted it was an old one. When I asked for the brand of the "old" machine, they couldn’t even name it. My old washer is like 20 years old and never had any warranty in the first place. Total scam, be careful.

Somebody called and kept asking for Mrs something! I told them that wasn’t me. Then they said something about insurance for our washer needing renewal and asked if I wanted to renew it now. I said we don’t even have insurance like that. They said they’d send the forms again, sounded a bit surprised we hadn’t got them before. I said alright, send it over, and they said they’d ring back later to talk about renewing. Guess I’ll wait and see what comes next!

Last week I got a call from someone claiming to be from D & G about renewing my washing machine insurance. They wanted me to confirm the expiry date on the card I used to buy it with, but I couldn’t remember. When I asked for the last four digits, he said that info was hidden on their system for privacy reasons. I randomly gave him an expiry date, then he insisted on the full card number. I refused to share that over the phone, so he tried to put me through to “security.” Yeah, right. I just told him to send the details by post instead. He said it had to be done by phone today or my cover would lapse. I said I'd talk to the company I actually bought it from. As I was about to hang up, he shouted that my machine wasn’t insured anymore. Then they called again today like I hadn’t spoken to them, asking about a Hotpoint - which I’ve never had. Hung up on them again. These persistent calls really need to stop!

Just got a call from someone claiming to be DAG, they wanted my card expiry date. I wouldn’t give it, then he told me my insurance was cancelled and then just ended the call. Totally a scam!

Got a call around 3.50pm on 29/03/2018 from 02038708954. The person asked if they were speaking to my partner, but I said no, I’m Mr Partner. Then they just ended the call straight away. I tried 1471 to check the number, then called it back but it said the number wasn’t known. This seems dodgy, hope someone looks into it before anyone falls for a scam.

Got a call from someone called 'Richard' about my Bosch washing machine's warranty running out. My husband said we never go for those warranties and just hung up. Right after, the phone buzzed again, this time some supervisor guy who also said his name was Richard. My husband gave him the same answer and cut the call. It’s creepy how they even know we own Bosch stuff!

Got a call asking for my missus, but when I asked what it was about, they just hung up. Even though we’re on the TPS, some of these persistent callers just ignore the rules completely. The authorities really need to up their game because these companies slip through the cracks with hardly any consequences. It's annoying having to stay polite and waste my time dealing with these calls.

Got a call earlier today. They mentioned my name and address and said it was about my washing machine insurance. I told them I don’t have any insurance and asked who they were. They said something about Domestic Appliances. When I began asking what kind of machine they were talking about, the call just dropped. I tried calling back but the number wasn’t recognised at all!

I saved the number and rang it back, but strangely it didn’t come up as a valid number, tried calling a couple of times with no luck. Similar to what others mentioned, bloke claimed to be from DAG, ringing about some sort of contract renewal for a washing machine. What freaked me out was how he knew my full name and address without me saying much. I told him I wasn't the one dealing with home appliances, and he just cut me off right away. A guy rang saying he was from DAG and insisted a payment for our washing machine service contract hadn’t gone through, blaming it on wrong expiry details on my card. Yesterday, I got a call from a bloke using this number, asking straight away for my partner by his name.
