Got calls all day and night, even early morning with loads of voicemail, telling me there’s a warrant for my arrest. They wanted me to press 1 to talk to their “Director”. After I looked up the number on Google, it was clear a scam. Don’t pick up, just block the number!

I'm totally fed up with these calls, there really oughta be some kind of law to stop them.

Just got a call a minute ago, someone claiming HMRC wants to arrest me. The woman on the line sounded really rude and had an Indian accent. When I asked for more info, she just hung up on me.

Somebody mentioned below about a gang from India using VOIP to flood the UK with thousands of calls daily. Back in March 2019, you can check the Daily Mail reporting on an 18-person crew running this Inland Revenue HMRC tax scam live online. Just a heads up, proper HMRC advisors in the UK will never ring you up out of the blue. If you get such a call, just put the phone down and don’t press any numbers like 1. You can see my earlier comment a couple of posts above for more info.

Got the usual robotic message with that American accent again. Had a word with my accountant and he said HMRC would ALWAYS send a letter first. Best to just brush off this SCAM altogether.

I got a call too, saying there’s a warrant out for my arrest or something like that. Totally bogus!

That number 02038702950 keeps leaving these creepy automated messages pretending to be from HMRC. Seriously, it’s really worrying because I reckon some folks might actually believe it. I’ve already put in a complaint to Ofcom since it honestly makes me feel quite unwell. Such stuff is way too dodgy and could easily trick people.

Hello there, I received a message claiming there's a warrant out for my arrest, and they're insisting I contact them. I've since blocked their number, yet here I am, still twiddling my thumbs waiting for the police to come knocking! What a load of nonsense-just a bunch of dodgy scammers using different numbers and leaving dodgy voicemails!

Got two calls this morning with voicemail left both times. It was some automated message in an American accent saying there’s a warrant out for my arrest and I need to get in touch with them right away. Just deleted the messages and blocked the number straight away.

Beware of the tax evasion schemes surrounding warrants. It’s all a ruse!

Just so you know, those scammers from India are faking and cloning UK numbers. The real HMRC from the UK won’t ever ring you up by phone - they only get in touch through official letters or emails. If you get a call like that, just hang up and definitely don’t press any buttons, especially 1!

Got a call earlier, left a voicemail saying I’d been arrested or something. Didn’t really buy it but when I rang back I got a bit freaked out. Told them I’m disabled and on benefits so there’s no way I owe £4000 from way back between 2011 and 2017. They kinda softened up after hearing that, said they’d check things and call me again. Made me feel awful, totally stressed out now. I’m gonna take a stroll to calm down. Proper disgusting stuff.

Just received a rather alarming automated message claiming an arrest warrant has been put out against me for tax evasion. It then urged me to return the call to sort it out. Quite concerning, I must say!
