02038687678 rang me on my phone 31/07/2021. The bloke knew my name and address and said I’d answered a survey about 6 months ago. I told him I’ve never done any surveys on my phone. But he kept saying I had and tried to ask more stuff like my age and if I have a car. I stopped answering cos I wanted to know who he really was and why he wouldn’t tell me where he got my details from. He said his name was Steven, but I didn’t buy it - he sounded Chinese or from somewhere else abroad.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent, spoke English well and asked for me by name (which I said no to - I’m pretty sure it’s a scam at this point). When I asked who was on the line, they got really rude and just hung up. Yep, just as I thought - annoying, maybe even dangerous, and just plain exhausting now. What’s the use of TPS if these lot are still managing to ring through? Something’s gotta give so these people can’t keep using relay numbers here, especially if it’s being abused like this. They should be shut down completely!

The guy calling called himself “Sean” and he actually seemed to recognise the little Hindi I remembered from when I worked in Maharashtra ages ago. I threw in a phrase usually said to send beggars packing, and sure enough, it made him hang up straight away. Funny thing was, he even said thanks for not being rude - obviously sticking to a script. Thought I was starting to feel a bit sorry for him, but then I said “chale jao” and off he went.
