Phone number ☎️ 02038682475 👆 is reported as a persistent scam number primarily impersonating HMRC through threatening automated messages about fake legal actions or tax debts. Callers often claim to be "Officer Mike Wilson" and pressure recipients to call back urgently, sometimes using intimidating language and demanding personal information. This morning, I got a voicemail on my landline from 8455270817, with someone pretending to be from HMRC. They warned me I was about to face a serious fraud case in court and gave a reference number, something like 7307495076, urging me to ring back straight away. Honestly, it’s a horrible SCAM designed to terrify anyone who might be more trusting or easily worried. It’s seriously awful that people would stoop to such cruel and deceitful behaviour.

I’m utterly astonished that this number continues to ring people with con schemes even after we've flagged it two years ago! What on earth is wrong with the Government and the ICO? It seems they’ve turned a blind eye to these fraudsters.

Now they’ve started calling, masquerading as HMRC.

Just a heads up, HMRC doesn’t get in touch with folks about tax refunds via WhatsApp or any app like that. If you get a message on WhatsApp claiming to be from HMRC about money owed back, it’s got to be a scam. Stay safe and don’t trust those!

I usually avoid picking up calls from London numbers, figuring if it's important they'll leave a voicemail. This one did, just like the rest - some bloke called Mike Wilson from HMRC. It was one of those robotic voices, and funny enough, the recording kicked off as soon as my answerphone picked up, not after the beep, caught him mid-sentence! Honestly, these scammers are proper scum, how on earth are they allowed to carry on with this?

My Mum received a couple of calls earlier today from someone purporting to be from the tax office, insisting that she had overdue payments. They threatened her with court action if the matter wasn't resolved promptly.

Got a silent call on my landline, so I tried ringing back. When I asked who was on the other end, the bloke swore at me, calling me a “f##king b###h.” Absolutely shocking behaviour and feels pretty threatening.

Got a voicemail from some dodgy bloke reading a script in awful English, said he was from the tax office. How on earth do these con artists get hold of our numbers? And seriously, why do the authorities never seem to catch or punish these scammers? It's proper frustrating!

I got a call from this one too, sounded really aggressive. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now!

So apparently, just like a few other people, I’m supposedly in some big legal trouble. They say, “this message is for you”. Yeah right, if that was true, they’d have said my name and left it in the voicemail! Honestly, I have no clue who handed over my number - I’m ex-directory, signed up for the TPS, and didn’t even memorise the number myself, had to check it. What a total ignore of GDPR rules!

Got a call today from someone claiming to be Officer Mike Wilson at HMRC. He was threatening me with serious legal action unless I called back straight away - all apparently linked to a lawsuit with my name on it. It felt really aggressive and obviously a scam. Just putting this out there so no one else gets caught up in it!

I got a call that showed up on my phone as coming from "International - Out of Area," so I just didn’t pick up. The person said he was Officer Mike Wilson from HMRC, warning me that if I didn’t ring back right away on 0203 868 2475, there’d be some serious money trouble. Instead of calling, I decided to look the number up online and found loads of warnings about it being a scam.

Just got a call from this number, 02038682475, claiming to be HMRC and saying I have some legal trouble. It really worries me that anyone, especially more vulnerable folks, might fall for this and end up sharing private info. Stay well clear of them - it’s a total scam from a really dodgy group.

Got the same kind of call here, like what others mentioned! Honestly, the message he left sounded really intimidating. I worry that someone who’s easily scared might dial that number back. And by the way, his English name is so posh for an Asian guy!

Got a phone call from some dodgy lot claiming to be HMRC, threatening me with all sorts of nonsense like ‘final warning’ if I don’t pay up. Definitely one of those nasty scam calls trying to scare you. Watch out for these sneaky people!

Got a voicemail from some bloke telling me to ring him back but never once said who he was after. This is my final warning-definitely not ringing again. Total con job. Seriously, who actually falls for this nonsense? Mike Wilson, sort yourself out and find a proper gig.

Just like loads of others, I got this dodgy voicemail from some bloke with an Indian or Pakistani accent talking about a lawsuit and 'Mike Wilson' or something. Then he throws in "have a blessed day" - what a bunch of rubbish! I had to replay it a few times because it sounded like something out of a spy film, all dramatic like "this message will self destruct" or whatever. Proper laugh, really.

Got a voicemail saying something about a court case, sounded pretty threatening but also kinda scammy. Didn't feel right at all, so I went ahead and blocked the number. If there were legit legal actions going on, surely they'd send proper paperwork like a letter or an official email. Don’t fall for these dodgy calls!

Today I got a call and it felt just like what loads of people have said here - total copy-paste of the same lines! I really don’t get how this kind of awful behaviour is even allowed. It’s honestly really upsetting. Big thanks to everyone who’s shared their stories on this site, it’s my go-to whenever I get calls from numbers I don’t recognise. So this person told me they’d won £9000 from a PPI refund. They said they had all the paperwork sorted but needed me to pay £450 for solicitor charges first before I could get the cash. Sounded a bit dodgy to me.
