Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, she was asking for me by my last name. I quickly figured it was one of those annoying nuisance calls, so I replied back to her using a weird foreign accent, saying she’d dialled a number in Germany by mistake. She just hung up right away!

It appears they're pushing some sort of broadband deal. I've received the same sort of calls but from various different numbers. I have no doubt this is a scam attempt.

I called to speak with Mr firstname but they wouldn't give their full name. When I asked where they were calling from, they just kept saying the same thing and then suddenly ended the call.

Getting a call guardian phone turned out to be one of the smartest moves I made. Anyone not saved in my contacts has to say who they are before I even hear them, which lets me choose if I want to pick up or not. Most just don’t bother introducing themselves, so all I get is a quiet missed call notification. No annoying ringing or distractions. Plus, I can easily block loads of numbers, so let them keep trying - I won’t be bothered and it’s just a waste of their time!

They keep switching up their phone numbers so I can’t block ’em! Got a call from someone claiming to be from Discover Broadband, saying they could snag me a better net deal with Sky, TalkTalk, or Virgin. Told the bloke exactly where to shove it! Of course, they wanted all my personal info first.

I got a call about some cheap broadband deal, mentioned I’m registered with TPS and they just went, whatever, and hung up on me.

some woman called, said her name was sarah. i asked her what company she was with. she just repeated her name. so i said, "yes, i get you’re sarah, but who exactly are you calling from?" then she hung up straight away. proper pain in the neck.

Discover broadband ringing me up again, this must be the third or maybe fourth time. I’m not interested in talking to them at all, quite an annoying nuisance really.

I found their contact from 1471 and gave them a ring, turns out it's Discover Broadband. They’d actually rung my landline first, but when I called back on my mobile, an automated message said they’d tried getting hold of me earlier today. Seems like they know my name plus both of my numbers, but honestly, I’m not interested in any cold calls, ever.

Had a proper awful cold call today. The caller refused to provide any address so I could send a formal complaint via email. They were really impolite, even abusive, before just slamming down the phone. It was from discover broadband, but they said they were ringing on behalf of Sky, Virgin and the like. I ended up speaking with their supervisor, some guy called Darren Fletcher - pretty sure that’s a made-up name. I thought these dodgy calls were meant to be banned now! Absolutely fed up with this nonsense.

I had a curious encounter with a woman from overseas who inquired about my broadband provider. She mentioned an enticing offer of £100 just to change my service! It definitely gives off a whiff of something dodgy, if you ask me.
