Got a call from someone claiming to be the aftersales team, saying they wanted to renew the 10-year warranty on a washing machine we've never owned. They even knew my name! Definitely a scam.

Got a call from a bloke talking about the warranty on my AEG washing machine. Normally I just hang up on these dodgy calls, but this time I asked, "why do you lot reckon it's alright to scam folks?" He goes, "if you reckon it's a scam about a washing machine warranty, you really need a reality check, madam." So I told him, "the reality is I don't own an AEG machine or any warranty, so you're the one who's scamming." After that, he just hung up on me!

some woman called me knowing my name and where i live, she started going on about how the warranty on my washing machine was about to run out. i found it hilarious since my washing machine is at least 10 years old! i joked saying that must be some kind of magic warranty to last that long. she just hung up on me after that! definitely seemed like a scam to me.

At first, I thought it was one of those automated calls cos of the weird background noise, but then a bloke answered asking if I was Mr or Mrs followed by a surname. I asked who was calling, and he said something about ABC and talking about my washing machine. I told him to take me off their list since the person they were asking about has passed away. After that, he just hung up. Not threatening or anything, just really frustrating.
