Later, I ended up chatting with another guy from their "customer service", though I can't recall his name. Foolishly, I gave them my bank info. someone rang me claiming they were from some international call interception service, saying i had to renew a contract for another year. problem is, i never had any contract with them. this woman on the phone then said my exact postcode, asked me to verify it, and then wanted my bank card info because apparently they dont keep it from previous deals. i told her i dont share bank details over the phone, and straight away she hung up. really dodgy if you ask me.

I asked if they could just take the fee from the refund itself. Told them to send me all the info in writing. Feels fishy to me, never heard of council tax refunds like this before.
