Just like everyone else here, this call was obviously a scam. They kept telling me my info was in some book, but the address they had was from like four years ago. Pretty clear they're working off an old list of businesses they've somehow gotten hold of, probably not legit.

About an hour ago, we got a call from someone named Sofie claiming we'd given permission last November to be in school publications. When we told her we hadn’t agreed to anything, she said she'd report us to her enquiries team. We told her to go right ahead, as we have no intention of paying them anything.

This is totally a scam. They do the same thing as mentioned before, trying to trick you into paying for some sort of sponsorship, and act like you already had a chat with them. Such a blatant rip-off!

I received a call from a lady claiming that I had consented to advocate for safeguarding in educational institutions last November and even sponsored thirty books on the matter. I was quite taken aback, as I had no recollection of such an agreement. When I pressed her on the specifics of our supposed conversation, she mentioned she would return with the exact date and time when I allegedly made that commitment. Quite the puzzling situation!

Got a call saying I'd supposedly signed up to back a school safety book drive. They even said the books would be delivered to my local school. Didn't remember any of it, but when the woman on the phone began trying to guilt-trip me, I knew they were just scammers. Absolute bastards.

A lady reached out to inform me that I've apparently registered to assist with promoting a book about safety in schools. She mentioned I’d receive a follow-up call with proof that I consented to contribute financially to this. I don’t buy it at all; this smells like a scam to me!

Just adding on from what I said before, she was English. If it’s clear the caller has an Indian accent, when they ask for my name, I say Ben Chod (try looking it up). But if they sound English, I go with Mike Hunt instead.

Got a call saying I’d supposedly signed up for some Crime Protection Awareness thing - I told them I’d never even heard of it and didn’t think I was linked to them. Asked them to send me info in the post so I could check it out. Then the line went quiet and she said “leave it with me” - I saved the number as SCAM and won’t be picking up again! Really glad I looked it up on here first!

They called me asking for my name and claimed that I had been involved in an anti-crime programme linked to a nearby school. That’s definitely not the case, so I told them they were mistaken, and just like that, the conversation was cut short. It seems to be a scam, so don’t hesitate to confront them if they reach out to you!

They keep ringing up asking for me, but my team just says I’m tied up. I did have a chat with them once and it was the same story I’ve seen mentioned here - something about me agreeing to a deal before and whether they could use my name or business name in some sort of publication. They never actually asked for money though. I just told them I was too busy to talk and asked them to ring later. After reading other comments here, we’re definitely not gonna bother with them anymore.

I received a rather dubious call from someone claiming to represent an "anti-crime organisation" that I supposedly signed up for at a nearby school. Absolute nonsense if you ask me! As soon as I questioned them, they hung up without a second thought. Clearly, a bunch of low-down scammers trying to con unsuspecting folks out of their bank details. Despicable behaviour!

I've had similar run-ins with these folks, insisting that I owe them money for some so-called child safety pamphlets from CSG. I shot back a response to their email, including links to this and a slew of other pertinent sites, but apparently, they've ‘not received’ anything. They say a manager will ring me in ‘three to four days’ to chat about it-humorous, really! If I was the one who's supposed to be owed cash, I wouldn't be sitting tight for 72 hours to sort it all out!

I told them that never happened, that a verbal agreement is nonsense, and the only way I’d pay is if they could show me a recording of me saying yes. I found out about this scam after finding this site, cos I got a call from this number before. They said something about a Child Protection booklet. I asked for more details. They told me we'd placed an ad and they wanted to send an invoice, so I asked where to send it. I said okay, send it to this address, then gave them the local police station’s address but didn’t mention it was a police station. I also said to mark it for the attention of DCI Smith. They just hung up after that.

Scammers keep calling our work number, it’s been happening for over a year! They have strong Liverpool accents and are insisting we pay up for our business name being in some school book! Can't believe they’re so cheeky. They even sent letters saying we owe them money, using the local school’s crest to make it look proper official! I received a rather suspicious call from a chap who seemed a bit on the dodgy side, requesting that I have my husband-who he seemed to know quite well-return his call. 24th May 2016 Just got a call from this number claiming to be from CSG, thanking me for backing some anti-bullying, anti-d###s effort for schools nearby. Then they started asking where they should send a £199 invoice. Like others mentioned, I asked when I supposedly agreed to it since I’m a volunteer with a community youth group. The young woman said December 2015, but there’s no chance I signed up for this. Definitely a scam and it really needs to be put to an end.

She didn’t give her name, but after some hesitation, said she was calling from CSG. Asked for the owner of the company - I told her he wasn’t available, so she kept asking when he’d be in. Usually, I try to get some details about who’s calling and why, but she kept repeating “it’s about his account, he’ll know.” So, I just brushed her off and ended the call. After finding this forum, I definitely won’t be forwarding that one!

Similar to what others have said, I told her I thought this was a scam. She insisted it wasn’t. Then she asked if she should take me off a book listing local companies in a school newsletter, costing £240, which I was meant to have agreed to back in October. I said yes, take me off and then she hung up. It’s terrible how some folks make a living by doing this sort of shady stuff.

A woman named Nadine rang me from CSG. Earlier this year she asked if we'd sponsor some anti-crime books to be handed out to schools. I’ve been tricked by this scheme before (last time it was anti-drugs books that never turned up at my selected school) so I flat out refused and told her she wasn’t genuine.
