5 yearsI got a call from this number, and the person said they were calling on behalf of Carphone Warehouse. They mentioned something about being linked to EE or whichever mobile network you use. Total scam alert. They promised unlimited calls and data, a posh new phone, all for a cheaper price, but then asked for £30 upfront. They said they’d refund it once the phone arrived but needed my bank details. EE has nothing to do with them. When I questioned why I had to pay first and why they needed my bank info when EE already has it, the caller got rude. They said it was to set up a new direct debit but kept saying payments would come from EE anyway - didn’t add up. I got really suspicious and asked for an email to prove it, saying I wasn’t handing over my bank details. The email they sent was obviously fake, full of spelling mistakes and looked unprofessional.
