Scam alert: someone rang saying they were from BT Broadband, telling us that my parents' IP had switched from private to public and had to be fixed straight away. She started explaining how to check the IP and change this “long number” thing. But when we said we didn’t have any devices nearby, she snapped, “So what are you expecting then?” We hung up, looked it up afterwards, and realised it was a total scam.
