2 yearsThe caller claimed to be ringing about a booking and mentioned I was owed £80 back. They rattled off all the specifics - the name on the reservation, the date, and even that it was for a birthday. Then, they asked me for my card info so they could sort out the refund. I cut off the card as soon as I got off the phone. When I phoned the restaurant to warn them, they said lots of others had been targeted like this for the past week.4 yearsThis was definitely a credit card fraud attempt. They had info about a cancelled booking I made through OpenTable, like where and when it was, which made me wonder if someone from OpenTable leaked it. They even knew the last four numbers of my card. Then they tried to get my full credit card info by saying they needed it to send a 'refund'. Don’t fall for this, it’s fake. Never share your card details with callers like this.OpenTable4 yearsGot a call from a polite bloke checking the details of a booking we supposedly made for the next day. He asked us to pay £20 to secure the reservation. It seemed legit until we looked up the number on Google and found this site. We quickly cancelled the card as soon as we saw the warning.4 yearsI recently received a call from this number claiming to be from a hotel where I had a dinner reservation. They stated that my credit card, which I had used to secure the booking, had been rejected. They provided the last four digits of my card, which lent an air of authenticity to the call. When they requested my card details again, I foolishly obliged. They then informed me that the second attempt also failed, prompting them to ask for an alternative card, which I reluctantly provided. Not long after, I received a message from the second card provider alerting me to fraudulent transactions. Before I knew it, I had to freeze my card as nearly £2000 was attempted to be charged. I then contacted my other card provider, only to discover the same dubious transactions had been attempted there too. It’s rather astonishing how they exploited our prior reservation details to trick us. I sincerely hope no one else falls victim to this scam.4 yearsBeware, it’s a scam. I got a call from them pretending to confirm a restaurant reservation I supposedly made (something like OpenTable). They asked me for my credit card info to secure the booking or pay a deposit. Once I gave them my details, they went and used my card to buy stuff online.Submit Your Own Report (020 3848 6066)
