The caller claimed to be ringing about a booking and mentioned I was owed £80 back. They rattled off all the specifics - the name on the reservation, the date, and even that it was for a birthday. Then, they asked me for my card info so they could sort out the refund. I cut off the card as soon as I got off the phone. When I phoned the restaurant to warn them, they said lots of others had been targeted like this for the past week.

This was definitely a credit card fraud attempt. They had info about a cancelled booking I made through OpenTable, like where and when it was, which made me wonder if someone from OpenTable leaked it. They even knew the last four numbers of my card. Then they tried to get my full credit card info by saying they needed it to send a 'refund'. Don’t fall for this, it’s fake. Never share your card details with callers like this.

Got a call from a polite bloke checking the details of a booking we supposedly made for the next day. He asked us to pay £20 to secure the reservation. It seemed legit until we looked up the number on Google and found this site. We quickly cancelled the card as soon as we saw the warning.

I got a phone call from this number claiming to be a hotel where we’d made a dinner reservation. They said the credit card we used to hold the booking had been declined. They even gave the last four digits of my card, so it seemed real enough, like it was coming from the hotel. Then they asked me for my card details again, and I gave them. When they said that card was declined too, they asked for another one, so I gave that as well.
Not long after, my other card provider sent me a message about suspicious transactions, and I had to cancel the card after nearly £2000 was nearly spent in fraud. I called the other card company too, and the same thing was happening there, so they cancelled that card as well. It's scary how they used info from our original booking to pull this off. Really hope no one else ends up getting caught by this scam.

Beware, it’s a scam. I got a call from them pretending to confirm a restaurant reservation I supposedly made (something like OpenTable). They asked me for my credit card info to secure the booking or pay a deposit. Once I gave them my details, they went and used my card to buy stuff online.
