Got a call around 1:15pm on the 6th of July, 2022, from someone claiming to be from the technical department of British Telecom. They informed me that my internet wasn’t performing as it should and requested that I check my computer to see what my connection strength was. I pointed out that they ought to already have that information on their end. He insisted I follow his instructions, and I responded that if my connection was indeed weak, they should sort it out from their side. Suddenly, he hung up on me. After that, I dialled 1471 to trace the call back and got the number 02038475083. I attempted to reach it, but the response I received was that “the number you’ve dialled is not recognised.” Quite suspicious, I must say!
