Picked up the phone and there was just complete silence on the other end.

Got a call from 02038462834. The guy had an English accent and asked for me directly. I said, "Who’s this?" and he replied real calm - "Oh, hello, this is AST, just calling." Then I cut in, "Who exactly?" He repeated, "AST, I’m calling." So I asked, "What's AST?" He said, "After service team... I’m calling about that." I said, "Hold on a mo!" Then he sighed and ended the call.

Got a call at 3:50pm on 03/12/20 about a washing machine warranty. The guy spoke really proper English, sounded professional, but it was definitely a scam. He couldn’t answer any of my questions about the washing machine and after holding the line for a bit, he just ended the call. Watch out everyone, this one’s dodgy.

Got a call today from someone who already knew my name, said my washing machine insurance was ending today. This is the second time they’ve rung me. Total rubbish if you ask me, sounds like a scam. I told them to stop bothering me!

They had both my address and my name, saying my washing machine’s warranty was about to end today. My machine isn’t even old! They obviously had some info beforehand. The woman on the phone sounded quite convincing and told me they’d cut the renewal price to £9.60 a month, and if the engineer couldn’t fix it, I’d get a replacement. I wasn’t completely sure if I even had cover, but when I asked if this was some kind of scam, she just hung up on me straight away. Definitely something to watch out for; I reckon a lot of people might fall for this.

i got a call from someone saying my washing machine warranty was nearly up. they even knew my full name and where i live! when i asked them where they got my details from, they went quiet. asked a couple more questions and then they just dropped the call. sounded legit to start with, but honestly, i should've ended it before they did. watch out for these sorts of calls!

I picked up the phone and this woman sounded super chill, like she does these calls non-stop, asking if my washing machine was still under warranty. I told her it’s pretty ancient, around 15 years old, so no way it’s covered anymore. Total scam in my opinion - just hung up straight away.

When I pressed for details, they couldn’t even say what model or type I have! Feels like a total scam to me.

I got a call from a woman who seemed to know my name. She told me the warranty on my washing machine was up and asked if it was still running alright. I mentioned I’d already taken out insurance for it, even got a new policy just last August. When I questioned what she wanted from me then, the call just suddenly cut off.
