I was waiting for an Amazon delivery that had some alcohol in it, but I wasn’t home when they arrived. The driver couldn’t just leave the parcel in a safe spot. At that moment, my Ring doorbell rang and then my landline showed a call from this number. When I rang it back, it turned out to be Amazon. I guess they were trying to let me know the driver couldn't drop off the package without someone over 18 being there to accept it because of their alcohol rules.

Curious, I decided to ring the number back, only to be met with some garbled chatter regarding Amazon, complete with an American twang. Quite odd, really!

I received a call from this number but chose not to pick it up since I was busy at work. After glancing through the comments on this site suggesting it could be a scam, I then received an email from Amazon stating that they had delivered a package I was anticipating (although it was meant to arrive yesterday, but that’s neither here nor there). This number belongs to Barclays, but don't try returning calls to it. It seems like it's a part of a larger network, probably shared with various other firms. I've no idea whether that call was on the level or not, but the person claimed to be from GoPro regarding a camera replacement. Coincidentally, I was in the midst of swapping out my camera, yet the whole conversation seemed dodgy, particularly when they requested my credit card details. She claimed to represent their fraud department and insisted that I verify my identity before she could divulge any information. When I pressed her to provide my first name to confirm her legitimacy, she flatly refused, insisting I had to clear some security checks first. After a couple more inquiries on my part, I decided to cut the call short and said I’d reach out to Barclays directly via my banking app instead.
