I encountered a similar situation just last month - an automated message purporting to be from HMRC, claiming there was a tax issue linked to my name and urging me to press 1 or face imminent arrest. It’s a relief to come across that earlier report; it reassures me that this must be a scam, especially considering how intimidating their message was compared to the usual nonsense we tend to get.

I received a rather curious phone call from this number, and it was an automated voice claiming to be from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. The message warned me of some alleged issues regarding my taxes and instructed me to press one to sort it out. Additionally, it ominously threatened that failure to comply could result in my arrest. Out of sheer curiosity, I did press one to see what would happen next, but the call was abruptly terminated. I can confidently state that I have no tax issues whatsoever, so it's clear this was a scam.
