A few weeks back, I had a rather peculiar call from a chap who sounded as though he hailed from the Indian Sub-Continent. He was inquiring after my late husband. Upon informing him of his passing, he responded rather chillingly with, "Oh, so you're Mrs K. I wish to..." At that point, I decided enough was enough, interrupted him, and firmly requested that he refrain from calling again before hanging up. Ever since, I've been plagued by silent calls from this number daily. It's hard not to believe that this is some sort of deliberate harassment.

Then I kept getting missed calls from this number, so I finally picked up and found out it was some company that gets PAID to drum up donations for charities. I told them to stop, then rang 03330 110023 to have my number taken off their list. The recorded message said it would take a day to sort. We’ll see if that actually happens.

It’s a charity, I think. I got this recorded message with a number to ring if you want to be removed from their call list. Just before Christmas, I kept getting messages like “text this number to give £x for homeless support/ African water projects/ meals for elderly people” or similar stuff. I reckon my number’s been handed over to another charity. If that’s the case, I really wish they hadn’t done that. I want to give when I feel like it, not be harassed with cold calls.
