When I tried to visit ... feelgoodtobeheard ... - a website I got from a Homebase staff member - my computer suddenly froze. A warning popped up saying, "Access to this PC has been blocked for security reasons... Call Microsoft Support: 02038297023 (UK Toll Free)." I phoned the number, but quickly felt uneasy when the guy on the line couldn't convince me he was legit Microsoft support. I told him I wanted to verify on the official Microsoft website before chatting further, but he kept pushing me to stay on the call. In the end, I just ended the call.

I got a weird robotic message from a woman saying she was from Customs and Revenue. She said I had to ring them back or pass my number to my legal advisor, or else there'd be legal trouble. That didn't sound right to me - I doubt they'd contact anyone like that. Seems like a dodgy call to me. Still, I reckon some folks might freak out and reply to it, which is what I guess they want. The number was 020 3892 7023.
