I've had quite a few calls like this before, and one thing I always notice is a small pause before someone answers, probably because it's an auto dialler going through numbers in order. That’s usually my first clue it’s a scam. Then when they say things like, 'Hello, this is (some random name) from Virgin Media. How are you?' it’s obviously dodgy. They then claim it’s about my router and making my internet faster. I just hang up straight away. Honestly, they're all just scammers trying it on.

Got a call from the same number, said hello but no reply at all, so I just ended the call. I’m on the TPS list anyway. If it was really Virgin Media, why would they be ringing me? I left their service back in Feb and only got one call from them soon after that. Funny enough, there was some damage to a Virgin Media street cabinet nearby yesterday which knocked the service out, so maybe they were just taking advantage of the situation.

Someone called Jordon claiming to be from Virgin Media, but when I said I’m not a current customer he just hung up. I guess they must be dialing old Virgin Media numbers since I used to be with them ages ago but cancelled since.

Got a call from Max at Virgin Media sayin theres a problem with my broadband. I asked which team he was from so I could verify since i actually work for Virgin Media myself, and then he just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Virgin Media saying they needed to check my router and access my devices. Totally suspicious so I called them out on it, told them I wasn’t having any issues, and they just hung up. The woman had a strong Indian accent and seemed to have trouble with English. Virgin later confirmed it’s a common scam where they try to grab your router or computer passwords. Stay cautious!

Got a call again from this number today, a lady with really bad English said she was from Virgin Media and knew about issues with my internet. I’ve got a disability and Virgin Media know about it - a proper employee told me they’d never ring me up out of the blue to run any tests because of it. I just ended the call, the woman couldn’t even speak English properly. Wouldn’t trust this number at all.

I received a call regarding an issue with my Virgin Media broadband, and the chap on the other end insisted that I check the lights on my router. I mentioned that I was quite busy at the moment, and without a hint of politeness, he just hung up. No courteous farewell or even a simple apology for interrupting me. What an incredibly discourteous bloke! Quite frankly, it felt like a right con, if you ask me. 🤷‍♀️

Utterly fraudulent call - TAKE HEED! I didn’t even get the chance to discover their cunning plan for swindling my cash, as when I posed a simple query, the so-called ‘advisor’ let out an exasperated sigh and promptly ended the call.

Got a robocall claiming to be from my bank's security saying some payments were done on an account I barely ever use 🤨 Can't even tell which bank they're talking about. After seeing what others said, I'm thinking this has gotta be a scam.

This guy was proper rude, kept shouting at me saying I wasn’t paying attention when he asked about the lights on my hub. I told him I couldn’t check ‘cos I was in a different room, but he kept telling me to go and have a look. Got even more annoyed, so I just hung up on him.

Got a call from someone called "Max" claiming to be from Virgin Media about my internet. His accent didn’t really match the name, but I didn’t say anything. He kicked off with his usual script but then the call just dropped out. I do get a kick out of chatting with these callers - once I told a scammer how impressed his mum must be, and it actually made him say sorry for what he did and even ask if I could give him a job!

A guy called claiming to be from Virgin Media. He told me there was an issue with my internet, but I told him everything was fine. When I asked him to confirm my address to prove he was really with Virgin, he got proper irritated. Then I asked if he could send an engineer out and he got even more annoyed. Got a call from someone saying they were with Virgin Media, saying there was some kind of fault with my internet. I told them I’d get in touch with Virgin myself if there was an issue and then hung up. They’ve ringed me a couple of times today but each time no one said anything before the call ended. Seems dodgy to me, like they might try to access your computer to fix some “error”. Don’t fall for it! It’s a scam, stay safe.
