Once again I got a call from abroad, this time an 02033 number linked to Gamma Telecom Holdings Ltd based in London. They provide a VoIP service over the internet. The caller pretended to be from the Canadian Securities and Exchange Commission, warning me about some $84,000 and scammers attempting to steal personal info. This was just like the half a dozen other calls I've had from similar numbers. While the Gamma service is legit and helps genuine businesses communicate without traditional phone lines, I reckon it also lets scammers hide behind a bit of secrecy.
