Got an email supposedly from Santander, but we don't even have an account with them. Said we owed £370 a month for some dentist in Birmingham. Totally fishy!

Dealing with scam emails isn’t hard at all. Just follow these 2 simple steps to help get the scam stopped. First, forward the suspicious email to '[email protected]' on Google. If anyone falls for this scam and replies, their bank details could be wiped out by some very skilled criminals who really know what they’re doing.

Got an email about a new direct debit for £26,845.40 supposedly to Human Relief, first payment set for 13th March 2026. Total scam! I’ve never even had an account with Santander. When I tried ringing back, it just went to some American accent voicemail - clearly dodgy. Reported it to the police and Ofcom straight away. Stay alert, everyone!

Today at around half past one, I got an email about a new direct debit being set up. They had a phone number at the end to call if you didn’t authorise it or something. Didn’t bother replying, just blocked the sender and deleted the message straight away. Honestly, I’d say this looks pretty shady and risky to me.

Got an email claiming to be from Santander about a new direct debit set up, with this phone number to ring if there’s any trouble. The email address looked pretty dodgy, so I’m sure it’s some kind of scam. Not totally sure what they’re trying to pull off exactly though.

Got a call claiming there was some dodgy activity on my debit card. They sounded way too confident and even had all my personal info, like my address and phone number - pretty sure they got that from some kind of data leak. Definitely felt like an attempted scam.

I tried setting up a direct debit and thought it was with Santander, but it turned out it wasn’t actually linked to them. Bit confusing if you ask me!

I just tried to set up a direct debit with Santander. Not sure if it went through properly though. Has anyone else had any issues with their direct debit arrangement with them? Bit frustrating to not get a confirmation straight away.

I didn’t get a phone call, but received an email from Santander saying I’d arranged a standing order for G4Physiotheraphy & Fitness, charging me £289.40 each month.

I got an email saying a direct debit was just set up on my account. I tried ringing Santander to sort it out, but their automated system was so useless I just stopped trying.

I didn’t get a phone call but an email from what said it was Santander, saying I’d set up a Standing Order with G4Physiotherapy & Fitness, charging me £289.40 every month. They included a phone number, 020 3824 6768, to contact their “dedicated team”. Thing is, the date for the SO was set in the past and I don’t even have a Santander account. Definitely felt dodgy!
