I've received calls from this number on two occasions, and on the second call, I somehow managed to spare them a couple of minutes-definitely a rarity for me! Surprisingly, they turned out to be rather useful, assisting me in reclaiming £7400 from PPI claims I was completely unaware of. I genuinely wish for this firm to be put out of business. As someone who relies on a wheelchair, I find it incredibly frustrating that despite my registration with the Telephone Preference Service and my phone’s blocking features, their calls still manage to ring three to five times before it finally cuts them off. By the time that happens, I've already had to struggle to get to the phone. It's utterly baffling how the regulatory bodies seem so indifferent to dealing with these nuisances. These unwelcome interruptions are really making my day-to-day existence quite unbearable.

They said they were from a PPI claims company. The first thing they did was ask for the number on the back of my credit card to "confirm my identity" (bit odd if you ask me). Seems like a sneaky way to get you to grab your wallet and have your card ready, so when they later ask for the full card number, expiry date and security code, you might just give it without thinking. I wasn’t having any of it and told the guy, who said his name was "John Evans", to share his credit card info with me then! Unsurprisingly, he wasn’t keen. I just said I’d ring back later and ended the call.

I received a rather curious call earlier, the woman had a distinct south-west Welsh twang. She claimed to represent an organisation called HES, and mentioned that I’d been overcharged for surface water drainage on my water bill. When she inquired whether I was on a state pension or a private one, I responded private (which honestly isn't true, as I’m not of pension age!). To my surprise, she said I wasn’t eligible for a refund, but they could possibly arrange for someone to come out and conduct a survey. When I pressed for more details about HES, she seemed rather evasive. And, upon challenging her about these supposed ground water charges, she abruptly cut the line. She did mention explicitly that she was calling from Swansea and claimed to be affiliated with HES, but I suspect this might well be one of those dubious call centres that are quite infamous in that area.
