Got a call from an unfamiliar number but didn’t pick up and no voicemail left. After reading the comments, I decided to block it. Cheers!

I picked up a call from this number and just said “Hello” but there was silence. So I said “Hello?” again, then after a bit, a bloke finally spoke up and said “Slaggg” before hanging up on me.

So annoyed by calls that just buzz for like 4 secs and then hang up. Definitely some scam going on.

Seriously, the biggest thing businesses mess up is not being clear about who they actually represent. It’s so annoying when they confuse you about the company they’re with.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be with EE, trying to get me to start a contract with some amazing deal. When I said I wasn’t interested, she just ended the call. Turns out they’re using the number 0161 524 7685. Later, the same lady ringed again, offering a discount on my existing contract. She wouldn’t tell me who the bill payer was, claiming the call was recorded, and hung up as soon as I said I wouldn’t continue without knowing the name of the account holder.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Sky, but they've phoned me a few times before pretending to be from O2 and Virgin. I've just blocked all their numbers now.

Watch out for a new trick where callers pretending to be from O2 say there’s a problem with your network just to get a conversation going. It’s a clever scam to catch you off guard.

This was a scam call, they said they were from O2 but it was definitely fake.

Total scam. They promised a 30% discount but it never matched up with what I was actually being charged. Got a text with a so-called ‘6 digit code’. Then they called me back again, but from another phone number.

That #### scammer is back, seems like they’re getting worse! Got two calls from them today alone! Same old farcical nonsense from a person whose accent is impossible to catch properly! You can either block them or just keep chatting for ages to tire them out and throw them a load of made up stuff!!! They’re a right pain in the neck!! Years ago, they’d probably have been better off with their tongue cut out! 🤔

I called the number back just to check, but as soon as the recorded voice started talking about "bundling telephony contracts" or something like that, I lost interest. Totally not something I need, so I’ll just block them.

Some bloke called saying he’d sort my O2 bill and I told him I’m not even with O2. He just snapped, told me to “go to hell” and slammed the phone down. Weirdest call ever.

Somebody rang me claiming they were from EE, offering a cracking deal on a new mobile plan. They said I’d been picked out of 200 customers who always pay their bills on time to get this “exclusive offer.” I wasn’t buying it at all. I told them I was recording the call the whole time, but they just brushed it off like I was joking.

I really struggled to make out what she was saying - her thick accent was quite difficult to decipher. I found myself asking her to repeat her name, and I believe she mentioned something about being with THREE, the service provider. The trouble is, I’m not with them at all, so I just ended the call.
