Got a call from this number on my phone claiming to be O2, saying I’d been involved in some kind of scam. They told me to reply to a text with a number to receive a cheque for £79. Yeah, sure, total scam! I’m just going to block the number and trash those texts.

They said they were from 02 and offered me a one-time code for 40% off my phone bill for two years. They were pushing me to give them the code quickly, which made me feel something was off. I decided to just end the call because it seemed dodgy.
