My wife got the same message on her laptop, but the issue is her laptop is completely locked now.

Got a pop-up on my laptop saying I had porno spyware and to ring some number right away. Obviously, it wasn’t from Microsoft at all and they just want you to hand over money. If you accidentally gave them control, make sure you get in touch with Microsoft - they do a special scan for free, no charges.

I can’t believe this - it’s clearly a ruse orchestrated by con artists.

At first, they may seem like they have your best interests at heart, but it soon becomes apparent that their true intention is to gain access to your computer. Before long, they'll be requesting payment to supposedly safeguard your device from malware. It’s best to steer clear and never grant them access.

So, I got this warning pop up on my laptop and, feeling proper scared, I went ahead and called the number they gave. The person on the line ended up taking control of my laptop remotely and typed in a few things pretty quick. Then showed me a list of supposed problems and said it’d be £300 to fix them. That’s when I twigged what was going on and ended the call. Don’t make my mistake - just turn off your device immediately. Luckily, a mate of the family is having a look at it later to make sure everything’s fine.

Absolutely gave me a right fright, that did! I wouldn't recommend dialing this number at all. They claim you ought to call them right away because a pornographic virus has invaded your computer and is about to drain your finances. Thankfully, I resisted the urge to call, and my computer seems to have sorted itself out.

I received a rather alarming warning message while using my laptop today. A rather persuasive gentleman claimed to be with Microsoft tech support, insisting that my computer was infected with a virus. He went on and on about the steps he would take to resolve the issue. Naturally, I became quite wary and inquired if there would be any charges involved. To my dismay, he quoted a sum between £200 and £300! At that point, I promptly hung up. I've since changed all my passwords, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should be doing to secure my device?

Utterly laughable scammers operating out of London. I'm actually concocting a little scheme of my own to give them a taste of their own medicine!

Received a rather alarming text claiming that my computer was compromised and urging me to ring this number for assistance from Microsoft's technical support team. After that, my computer froze completely. I decided to power it off and on again, and thankfully it appears to be functioning normally now. Just conducting a number lookup to verify its authenticity.
