What a laugh that was. I answered all the questions they asked with made-up details when this person called pretending to be from UK tax, saying I had a warrant out for arrest. Then I told her I was Chief Inspector Ann Scott from Royal Surrey Police and that she’d just confessed enough for a fraud case, we’d already tracked her number and were getting ready to send a warrant. After that, it went quiet - even the bloke chuckling in the background stopped dead.

Got a call from someone with a thick accent, maybe Indian, saying HMRC was gonna arrest me for bogus tax returns.
