This was clearly a scam, told the bloke to shove it and he started hurling loads of insults back at me.

Someone called me pretending to be from Open Reach, saying my internet speed was rubbish and kept cutting out. I let him carry on until he asked me to open my laptop, then I told him to get a life instead of trying to scam people and said he should be proper embarrassed. He just hung up after that. Now I’m thinking of getting a whistle to blow whenever dodgy callers like that ring me again.

Someone saying they were with BT Openreach called me up, telling me my internet was running slow and they'd been keeping an eye on it.

This has "scam" written all over it, in my opinion. I tried ringing back with my number blocked, but it just told me the service was unavailable or something along those lines. Honestly, I’d say don’t pick up if you get this sort of call. There’s really not much else you can do about it, sadly.

They rang me twice today but I didn't get to pick up either time. On the second try, they didn't bother leaving a voicemail or anything.

Somebody said they were from BT Openreach, but as soon as I said I’d put them through to the BT Openreach engineer I had with me, they just hung up. Spoiler alert: there was no engineer, obviously!
