Got a call claiming to be my energy company, asked to talk to the owner. They kept going on about a meter reading, asking the same things repeatedly. They said they were from Scottish Power and have called my work a few times now but today was the first time I picked up. The person had a strong accent and there was a lot of noise in the background, they kept asking if I was the owner of the business. I couldn’t really understand much else, so I just ended the call and blocked the number.

They just hung up in the end and have phoned more than 10 times today, either pretending to be clients trying to make appointments or staying silent. Honestly, it’s just shocking how they’re acting.

Got a dodgy call from someone claiming to be from the electric company. I told them my number’s on the TPS list so they shouldn’t be ringing me for sales. Feels like some overseas call centre pretending with that number. Then a guy who said he was the manager called saying he’s upgrading our gas and electric deal. Complete waste of time, asked them to take me off their list but they had no idea! Ended the call.

that’s a scam for sure. dont give any personal info to that number. i got a call supposed from British Gas, told me my contract was cancelled and i needed to sign a new one or something like that. then they asked for my name, shop details and dob. i told them the company already has all that info. i said i’d just sort a new contract online, but they said no, cant do it online lol. i just laughed and hung up. called British Gas customer service and they said the number isn’t theirs. be careful with that number!

Number 0203 8079420 kept calling me. This bloke barely spoke any English, kept pestering me for my address and postcode. When I refused, he just kept going on and on. I had to hang up, but he rang again not long after! Really wish I could block this number, never told me who he was or anything about why he was calling.

He claimed to be with some “energy firm” and wanted to talk to the owner, but his English was really poor. I couldn’t catch what he was trying to say so I asked him to say it again, and I’m pretty sure he cursed at me before just hanging up.

Just after I registered my new company, I received a call from a gentleman with a strong South Asian accent claiming to be from Companies House. He sounded quite convincing as he had all of my information. He then proceeded to ask for my bank details in order to set up my electricity supplier. I immediately ended the call as it was obviously a scam.
