Today, I received two phone calls from a lady with an Indian accent. She was insistent on confirming my name and the company I work for. However, whenever I asked her about her identity and the reason for her call, she promptly ended the call.

Got a call from a guy who said he’s with Sky, asking about how fast my internet was. He’s an Asian bloke, and then he said he’d send £300 straight into my bank account. Sounded a bit dodgy to me.

I got a call from someone claiming my broadband from Virgin Media hasn't been working right recently. Thing is, Virgin only set up my internet yesterday afternoon, and this person seemed completely unaware of that. He asked me to enter some code on my computer so he could help me sort it out, but I wasn’t comfortable with that. Told him I couldn't verify if he was really with Virgin Media since he couldn't give me any proper info, so I just ended the call.

My mum got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media saying her account was at risk and that hackers were trying to break into her phone. She actually let them control her phone remotely! They then tried to get her bank info, which thankfully she didn’t give them, but by that point they'd already got into her phone. We had to wipe her phone completely and reset all her passwords. Seriously, don’t trust these calls or hand over any info.

This bloke kept saying people were stealing my internet and claimed he was from Virgin, which is who I get my service from. But he rang my landline, so I asked him to prove it by telling me my current package. Of course, he couldn’t answer that - total scam. Then he kept insisting someone was using my internet. I told him to ring me on my mobile since that’s linked to my account, but instead he just hung up. Definitely a scam.

Got a ring from this number around 9.37 am today. An Indian woman was on the line, claiming there was an issue with my internet and broadband. I told her everything was working perfectly, but she got quite rude and insisted there was a problem. When I said I didn’t want to deal with it, she started calling me names and threatened to cut off my internet for three months. Total SCAM. She couldn’t even say who my provider was.

Some guy, said he was with Virgin Media and said he’d give my mum £400 for her slow internet. When we got to her place, he was still on the phone, and had her logged into her bank online. He was messing about on her laptop and had her change her security details. We quickly stepped in and he cut the call. She’s had to change all her passwords now, and the laptop's off to get checked for any dodgy stuff.

Doesn’t it ever stop with these callers? My home phone buzzed at 7.50 in the morning. I didn’t pick up, figuring it was just another nuisance. As expected, no voicemail was left - not shocking at all! I put the number on block straightaway, but then got three more calls in just a couple of hours, each from a different number. Honestly, blocking these bothersome calls takes up way too much of my time. Completely fed up with it all.

It was early Saturday, about 8.43 in the morning, when I got this call from a guy with a strong Indian accent claiming to be from Virgin Media. I wasn’t even 9am yet. Right away, I just hung up. The day before, I’d had two calls from different numbers but both supposedly from Virgin Media, saying there was a problem with my router and someone might have hacked into it. You could hear loads of chatting and noise like they were in some call centre. Honestly, I just hope they get what’s coming to them.

They seem to be scammers, especially going after older folks. A mate of mine was told to update her telephone preference service info and they even asked for her payment card to cover the “renewal” fee. Just so you know, signing up for the TPS is free, so these calls are definitely dodgy and you should be careful.

Got called today at 8:10 in the morning by some weird number. There was no one talking, just crackling noises, and then some robotic voice just said "goodbye." Bit fishy if you ask me. I keep getting these pestering calls claiming to be from Sky, insisting that there's some dodgy business happening on my internet connection and that they'll cut it off if I don’t do as they say. I cheekily told them to go ahead, but surprise, surprise - my internet is still running fine! At this point, any call I receive on my landline feels like a scam, especially since I can't recall ever sharing the number with anyone.

We received a call from an individual who appeared to be of Indian origin, stating that our telephone line registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) was experiencing internet connection issues. However, we are familiar only with our Internet Service Provider (ISP) and have never heard of the caller's company. The conversation abruptly ended when I advised the caller to contact our technical department. It is highly likely that this was an attempted fraudulent scheme.

I received a call from someone who claimed to be from BT, mentioning issues with the phone line and inquiring if I owned a computer. To verify their authenticity, I questioned them regarding the office location. The person had an Indian accent and mentioned a place that sounded like Newgate Street in London. When I requested their postcode, they hesitated and responded with a vague answer - "eerr ummm 020... um." Realizing that it was most likely a scam, I placed the phone aside without ending the call, hoping that they would be charged for it. However, I am uncertain if they will bear the cost. Overall, it seems to be a fraudulent attempt.
