I decided to check by calling the official tax office helpline, and they told me they never call people, always send letters. So, just ignore these calls, it's definitely a scam.

I’ve received a call from this number, and it’s clearly a dodgy operation pretending to represent HMRC. They’ll make alarming claims about you facing legal issues and pressure you into coughing up over £900 to avoid some sort of disastrous action.
