21 daysBloody annoying spam calls! Someone from a company rings up asking about problems at work, but I just ignore them. Total waste of time.29 daysMy work mobile picked it up and flagged it straight away as spam.30 daysReceived a call on our office landline from 02038 070802. The person claimed they were ringing from the DVSA, asking for our transport manager and our director who isn't currently working here. They said they wanted to do a survey for the DVSA, but that was a fib since they weren't really from there. I told them I wasn't keen on doing any surveys over the phone, and they said they'd call again. I told them there was no point as we don't take part in phone surveys.DVSA2 monthsThis number has been ringing me again and again. I could easily block it, but since I usually just let unknown calls go to voicemail, I figured I’d keep track of how often they try and what excuses they use for ringing. My phone’s set up to answer and ask who’s calling and why before it actually lets the call through. Today, the caller said, “I’m trying to get hold of [my name]. This is Irene calling on behalf of BMG Research.” That’s quite different from what the last couple of callers claimed, so I’m a bit puzzled.IreneBMG Research2 monthsI reckon that 0203 number’s gotta be dodgy, so I just didn’t bother answering.2 monthsI’ve set up my phone so it picks up unknown numbers first and asks who’s calling and why before actually letting the call come through. This week I got two calls from this same number. The first was a woman and the second a man, both claiming to be from the local council. One even said they were doing a survey about council housing. Sounds like they knew some info about me, even though they got some details wrong. My phone provider flagged those calls as “Suspected spam” so I decided to check the number here.2 monthsSomeone rang me saying they were from BMG Research doing a survey about ACAS and employment tribunals. They said it would only take about 25 minutes and offered money for finishing it. I looked up the number on BMG’s website and it definitely wasn’t on their list, so I’m pretty sure it’s dodgy.BMG ResearchACASBMG2 monthsI've had a few calls from these lot claiming they're doing market research for some government business department, asking things about employment tribunals. They seem to get their info from public sources and sound quite believable. The voices on the phone were young lads, probably from London or somewhere in the South East. Luckily, BMG’s website has a number checker which showed the calls were a sham. When I asked them to confirm who they really were, they just ended the call. I've blocked the numbers and sent a report to 7726 now.LondonSouth EastBMG2 monthsThey rang but I didn’t pick up, and there was no message after. I make it quite clear on my voicemail that unless you leave a message, I’ll just ignore the call as if it’s some sort of spam.2 monthsGot a call from someone claiming to be with the employment tribunal service, said they were reviewing something and used my name which was a bit off. I looked up the number afterwards and saw others had similar experiences. I've blocked the number now.2 monthsThe caller claimed to be with Invest Northern Ireland. But surely, if they're with Invest Northern Ireland, they'd hire a Northern Irish firm for the survey, not some company based in London. Seems a bit dodgy to me.Invest Northern IrelandLondon2 monthsGot a call claiming to be from Conducti Invest asking me to do a NI survey but it was totally obvious it was fake.Conducti Invest2 monthsThis bloke sounded quite posh, saying he was looking for small business owners for some government study! I wasn’t really sure how to react after telling him all the stuff I’d read here ;)2 monthsThey phoned but hung up after just a couple of rings without leaving a voicemail. After seeing what others have said here, I've decided to block the number.2 monthsThey keep ringing non-stop about some government research related to an employment tribunal and want to speak to a senior person. My director refuses to answer or chat with them, but these lot just won’t accept no for an answer. Now they’re threatening to show up in person - yeah, good luck with that! I personally know the director, and he absolutely won’t stand for anyone turning up uninvited or these constant annoying calls we get. And then when you try to push back, they just hang up on you. Just leave us alone, seriously!2 monthsGot a call from someone claiming to be with the Scottish Government, looking to chat with one of our company’s directors about some sort of research.Scottish Government1 yearSomebody rang me up real pushy claiming it was about a "mould complaint" I supposedly made about my house. For the past week, they've been ringing me daily, leaving some robotic voicemail saying something like, "This is Sure Group. Call back right away for a washing machine quote." Every time I block one number, a slightly different one pops up doing the exact same thing. I've probably blocked around 15 different numbers that all seem connected to them. I'm flagging them as dodgy since it feels like a scam and they just won't stop.Sure Group1 yearI picked up and they actually KNEW my name!
