Got a call, sounded like a scam to me. The person was asking for my bank card info and details from my chequebook, saying it was to keep some service going. I questioned him if "continued" meant it was actually active now, and if it was, why wasn’t it functioning? Plus, the bloke just kept babbling nonstop, barely letting me get a word in. Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from a "phone blocking service". He wanted me to verify my address and phone number, so I played along out of curiosity. Then he started asking if I use a credit or debit card to pay. Curious again, I said debit. Next, he mentioned an expiry date of 06/20 and asked if it was correct or if I had a new card. Bit of a red flag - they were clearly trying to fish for my card info to scam me! If anyone else gets a call like this, just hang up and don’t bother with them.

I got a call saying they were giving a free service starting tomorrow, and when I asked where they got my info from, they said it was from BT and TalkTalk. Thing is, I've never been a customer of either. I told them straight up it sounded like a scam since I’d never come across their company before. Then they just hung up on me. Last time I just told them to get lost since it was clearly one of those scam calls. These days, I just don’t pick up the phone at all. Got calls from this number twice, once on the 19th just before 5pm and then again early morning on the 20th around 10 past 10. The guy who picked up said his name was Alan and wanted to have a chat about cold calling, which was odd. I ended the call pretty quick after that. The number isn’t saved or registered anywhere on my phone but I still picked up, just to see what it was about. Honestly, I’d say this is quite dodgy because of the way they try to persuade you. Might want to add this number to the beware list.

I had quite the peculiar experience with a recent phone call. Initially, there was a brief silence before a woman-clearly of Asian descent-began discussing a call-blocking service I had apparently signed up for, which was nearing its renewal date. Oddly enough, she addressed me by name and even had my address, though her pronunciation was all over the place. Curious, I pressed her for more details, but she promptly terminated the call. Scammer alert: I got a phone call from a lady with a thick South Asian accent who said her name was “Surely Wilson” - pretty sure she meant Shirley.
