Got a call from someone asking if I was Mrs X. I asked who it was, and he said his name was X, calling about a washing machine protection plan. I replied, “What protection plan?” He went on about the one linked to my washing machine at my address. I told him that must be really old by now. Then, without a word, he just hung up on me! Pretty sure it was a scam, but no need to be so abrupt. Lately, these calls have been increasing even though I’m on the TPS register.

I've had to block this number because from what I've seen on here, it's clearly dodgy. I've got BT's call blocker set up, so any caller has to say their name before I pick up, which makes it way easier to avoid scams. It's been a lifesaver for keeping those annoying scam calls at bay. Lately though, after this number or similar scammy ones ring, I've found I can't make outgoing calls on my landline for a good while afterwards. Has anyone else had this happen or is it just me?

Beware of a scam going around about insurance for washing machines. It’s definitely a phishing trick.

Someone rang looking for me, and I told them I wasn’t home and asked if they wanted to leave a message. They just cut me off and ended the call.

This number calls me pretty much every day at about the same time. I never picked up before 'cause it didn’t look familiar, and after seeing all these comments, there’s no way I’m answering it now. Cheers for the heads up, everyone!

Got a call this morning. The guy only asked if I was me, I asked who was calling, he just said 'yeah' and then cut me off. It’s the second time they've bothered me. The first time, I ended up arguing with some pushy bloke trying to sell me insurance for my washing machine - something I don’t even own.

He called asking for Mrs X, but I told him I was Miss instead, then he just said OK and ended the call. Yesterday he rang again but there was just silence when I answered.

Got a call saying my washing machine insurance was nearly up, but I don't even bother with insurance for stuff like that and my washer’s pretty old anyway. The connection kept cutting out, and once I said I didn’t have any cover, they just dropped the call. This wasn't the first time they’ve tried ringing me either.

Got a call from a very polite woman claiming to be from the Service Protection Group about renewing my service plan. I asked her what brand my machine was, and she either knew or took a lucky guess, but when I asked for the model number, she gave me the wrong info. I don’t have any service plan with them at all. I told her I suspected it was a scam and hung up. After looking it up here, I’m glad I trusted my gut!

Got a call from someone called Harry at SGP about insuring my washing machine. As soon as I told him I didn’t have any insurance on it, he just ended the call straight away.

I just realised our washing machine doesn’t have a cover at all, so it defo needs a new one!

Got a phone call from a bloke who said my washing machine cover was up for renewal. I told him I wasn’t insured with anyone, but he kept going on about some SGP policy and said he was just confirming the machine was still working fine before renewing. I told him flat out that I don’t have insurance and wasn’t interested in getting any. Then he just hung up on me.

Every day, just about the same time, I get a silent call on my landline. I keep quiet during the call because I reckon any noise might just signal to the scammers that someone’s there. If it’s those washing machine insurance people again, I’m shocked they still bother after the mouthful I gave them last time! They told me I wasn’t allowed to talk to them like that, and I told them I can speak however I like - after all, THEY’RE the ones ringing me and being a right nuisance!

For three straight days they keep calling about my washing machine being low or something. Cant remember the brand since mine was a second hand one I got off eBay. I’m on the TPS register but these scammers just dont quit. It seems totally useless.

Got a call from some bloke named Ben about my washing machine insurance renewal, caught me off guard. I asked him to call back later so I could look into it. Turns out, I’d stopped that insurance like three years ago since the machine’s pretty old. Plus, the renewal was meant to be in September, not August like he said. When he called back and I told him this, he just hung up on me. So glad I didn’t give them any bank info - total scam, avoid these people!

Somebody rang asking if I was Mrs Mobrey - had enough of that name honestly!!! Told them I wasn’t, then the call dropped or they hung up on me, connection was rubbish so couldn’t make it out. I was about to give them a proper telling off, been getting loads of calls meant for the blasted Mobreys. Tried ringing back on the London number, it just said not reachable and I should contact my provider, proper annoying.

Got a call the other day from some lot about my washing machine insurance running out. They kept saying I was about to be removed from their list or something. Thing is, my washing machine’s second hand, bought off eBay! They went on about how I’d had the machine for 8 years and could renew the insurance - total rubbish, all made up.

Got a call on my landline from this number. Not long ago, I got scammed online by Mobileexcel[###] and GFCLS[###] over buying a washing machine. Proper rip-off. Honestly, if anyone says their card machine has broken and asks you to pay by bank transfer, just say no. It's a total scam!

Some bloke called claiming my washing machine warranty was up for renewal. He gave a fake name, which I reckon he nicked from a list I handed over to scammers a couple years back. Seems they all share these names and numbers around.

Be careful, it’s a total insurance scam! They just want your bank or card info so they can drain your account. Don’t even bother talking to them. These lot are awake at crazy hours, very dodgy!!! Stay safe!

Absolute scammers, seriously! I just told them to shove it and that usually shuts them up. They’re always after your bank info which is mega risky. This cheeky bloke even called me a total idiot before slamming the phone down, lol!

Absolute scammers! Just like me, I told them where to shove it, and that usually shuts them up. They try to fish for your bank info - really dodgy stuff! Then the rude bloke called me a nasty name and hung up on me, made me laugh though.

Supposedly a washing machine repair, but more like some sort of scam to steal money and launder cash. Total rip-off artists. I hope they get what's coming to them, along with their dodgy crew.

WATCH OUT! I got a call from some guy claiming my washing machine repair plan had expired. Thing is, I never even signed up for that cover. He said it had been cancelled three years ago by my husband and gave his real name, so at first it sounded legit. But the machine was actually bought eight years ago, so it didn’t add up. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me. The bloke’s name was Josh. Don’t fall for it!

I picked up the phone and some bloke, real rude, kept going on about a company when I asked who he was from, but he never actually said a name. Then he just blurted out "SGP" and said his name was Ollie. Afterwards, he called me rude and hung up before I could even say a word back. Proper annoying!

Got a call from some guy about my washing machine insurance, said it was changing and wanted a £300 one-off payment to cover three years instead of the usual monthly fees. He kept pushing for my card info, but I wasn’t having it. I asked him to send me the details in writing, but he was insistent it had to be sorted right then or the cover would stop. I ended up hanging up on him, but he rang straight back! Told him if the cover did end, I’d just find another provider and hung up again.

Got a call about some warranty for a washing machine, but the place they were ringin’ is where I lived five years back and was renting then, so I definitely didn’t own the machine. Felt pretty dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone named Albert today, telling me my washing machine’s warranty had expired and asking if I knew about it. He offered to renew for £79, covering any repairs or even a replacement if needed. When I asked how much I was supposedly paying now, he said £120 a year, which instantly made me suspicious since I’m certain I don’t have any such insurance. The moment I refused, he just dropped the call. Seems like a total scam designed to get your bank info. Watch out for this one!

Earlier on today, I got a call from 0203802903 saying my washing machine's repair plan was about to end (which I don’t actually have). They claimed they were extending it for free and even adding better cover, including a replacement if repairs don't work. When I asked them to confirm the brand of my machine, they only gave me a model number. I told them I don't believe I have any plan, and then the line just went dead! I reckon they’d have tried to get my bank details if I'd stayed on the call.

someone just phoned asking for a mister iid or something along those lines. ive never known anyone with that name living here, its probably a wrong number.

i think i might have figured out a trick for those scam calls. whenever the phone rings, i just stay quiet when i pick up. from what i’ve heard, many of these dodgy calls only go through if they hear a voice. so if you keep silent, they dont get anyone on the other end and probably hang up. give it a go and see if it stops you from getting those annoying calls!

like i said before, the washing machine insurance guy called me up and i told him ive got the manufacturers 5 year warranty. he just goes, alright fine but we’re still gonna take £300 from your account. i said no way, then he goes, okay we’ll just take £100 instead. i said no again and he just hung up on me.

I tried ringing back to see who kept calling me but the line was dead, saying the number was out of order for now. The caller said my washing machine warranty had expired and offered to sort it all out, even promised a new machine. Sounded great until I asked what brand my washer actually was - then he got all awkward and just abruptly cut me off. Total scam - don’t waste your time with them or share any info - just end the call quick smart!

I keep getting calls from some firm saying I need to renew insurance on a washing machine with them. It's really annoying how they keep ringing me non stop. Total harassment if you ask me.
