Could hear a lot of noise like a call centre in the background, then the person just ended the call.

Got a call about extending a warranty for some Hotpoint washer. I told them I don't even have a Hotpoint washing machine, let alone any warranty on one. They just cut me off right after. Strange!

Got a call saying my washing machine warranty had run out, but now it was cheaper to renew than what I'd paid last time! I was suspicious straight away but let the caller carry on with his spiel. Once I mentioned that the landlord should be the one sorting the warranty costs, and I wasn’t paying a penny, he suddenly changed track and claimed the machine was still covered. Totally a scam, but the guy was really courteous, so I can see how someone could be convinced, especially if they actually insure their washing machine - which I don’t.
