I received a rather alarming call purporting to be from HMRC, stating that they were in the process of issuing an arrest warrant due to supposed tax fraud on my part. It’s clearly a con-whatever you do, don’t hit button 1!

I got a call from this number and there was a robotic voice telling me I’d done Tax Fraud and I had to press 1 or else I’d get arrested straight away - I pressed 1, this person said hello then just hung up. Glad to see I’m not the only one, looks like a total scam!!

Some bloke called Tony from Verso rang me up. He had a few questions about energy providers or something. He got my name wrong though, so I kept asking who he was trying to reach. After a bit, he just hung up on me. Strange!

I usually dont pick up calls from numbers I dont know and they didnt leave any voicemail. Saw a few missed calls from this number on my phone and wanted to look it up online before I ring them back, but couldnt find any info about it anywhere.

She said she found my number on WeChat and for her safety, she needed to ask a few questions. I ended the call and shortly after got a message threatening to track my phone and do something bad. I've already reported the number to the police.

REALLY ODD - a quiet lady again, like others mentioned, said she was calling from Verso (not sure what that is??) and she wasn’t trying to sell anything. She actually ‘thanked me for being polite’ and said she needed to ‘check a few things before we go on’ (didn’t plan on answering her questions, just curious). She then asked if the address I gave was where I live now - which it isn’t, but somehow she was right. I quickly ended the call. Number now BLOCKED.

I just got a call from this number, some woman claiming to be from ‘Verso’? She said she had two simple survey questions, asked if I read newspapers and my age group (20s, 30s, 40s, etc). I answered those since they didn’t seem too intrusive. Then she started asking if I owned my home, who supplies my electricity, how I pay for it, and if I have kids. I told her I wasn’t comfortable sharing, asked what the info would be used for, but she dodged my question and kept firing off more questions until I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone called ‘alex’ claiming to be from verso or averso. He said he wasn’t trying to get me to change my energy provider, but he spoke soooo fast I couldn’t really understand what he wanted. He already knew my name and address, then kept asking for my date of birth, which I wouldn’t give. He got really pushy saying it was just to make sure I wasn’t underage, so I ended up hanging up and blocking the number.

A lady said she was from some place called Verso and wanted to run through a few questions with me. She kept going on about how polite I was (poor thing). Then she asked me to confirm my address, but she had an old one down for me. After that, she asked if I owned my home and who my energy supplier was. That’s when I’d had enough and just ended the call.

got a call this mornin from a woman who was jabbering non stop, way too quick to understand her properly. all I caught was it wasn’t any sort of sales pitch and she needed to ask me some questions. everytime I tried to find out who she was, she just kept talking louder over me. when I asked if I could ask a few questions instead, she just cut the call. she obviously had my first name from some place.
