My teenage daughter received a rather alarming call from this number, which left her quite rattled. The caller ominously hinted at taking her to the magistrates court unless she pressed 1 to stay on the line. Thankfully, she had the sense to hang up before getting caught up in whatever nonsense they were peddling. A quick search elsewhere reveals that over 40,000 people have checked this number, which is clearly part of a scam operation masquerading as HMRC and other agencies.

When I picked up the phone, I was greeted with a pre-recorded message right off the bat. They were rambling on about my National Insurance number or something similar. I didn’t stick around to find out more and promptly ended the call, then took the liberty of blocking the number.
