My son-in-law got a rather alarming phone call from this number. A woman on the line claimed she was from HMRC and insisted that he would be apprehended for tax evasion in less than an hour. She quizzed him about whether he had any funds in his bank, to which he answered negatively. She then attempted to prolong the conversation, but he was understandably quite anxious and asked her how he could resolve the matter if she kept him on the line. Eventually, he decided to hang up. My daughter promptly informed the police, and they confirmed it was indeed a scam, noting they had received similar reports recently.
