I was expecting a call from DWP at a set time and this number rang then. I didn’t pick up at first ‘cause it wasn’t the number I knew. They phoned again straight away so I took it, and it really was DWP. I explained why I missed the first call and what number showed up, but they said they weren’t sure why it appeared like that. I received a call supposedly from Universal Credit, yet all their official correspondence states that they only reach out via 0800 numbers, or occasionally, they might show up as no caller ID. Got a call from this number saying they were from Virgin Media about my slow internet. When I asked why they were using a number that didn't match Virgin Media, the caller just ignored me and kept saying it was about the slow signal. After I asked again about the number, they just hung up. Then they rang again almost straight away, probably by mistake, but didn’t realise it went to voicemail - you can hear them say "well that didn’t work" and sigh loudly.
