Got a call from someone claiming to be with o2, but it was just a scammer from India. They wanted my o2 username and when I said no, they started swearing at me on the phone. Best to just ignore these calls, seriously.

Got a call from some fancy sounding woman claiming there's a warrant for my arrest! Said I was gonna be arrested for tax fraud. Yeah right, I’m a student and haven’t paid tax for years! Definitely a bunch of scammers. Don’t even bother chatting, just hang up straight away ;)

I recently received a rather peculiar call from a number traced back to Spain. The caller was inquiring about the manager of the eatery where I’m employed. Upon informing them that the person they sought was indisposed, they insisted that their proposition was exclusively for the manager. Later on, at approximately 20:15, my phone rang again from the same number, once more requesting the manager. This time, they claimed to be gathering feedback for a delivery services firm. When I probed for which company, the caller stated they couldn’t disclose that information, as it would compromise the integrity of the survey. I expressed my suspicions about their motives, mentioning the conflicting information from the previous caller. At that point, they requested the exact details given by the first caller, and when I threatened to involve the authorities, they promptly ended the call. Both speakers were fluent in Spanish; one sounded Mexican while the other had a distinctly Argentinian tone. Just a word of caution, folks!

They said they were from Ipsos doing a survey. They gave a name and asked about my experience with selling home goods and financial services over the past couple of years. Then they wanted my age, education level, current job, where I live, landline number, and especially my email to verify the info they collected during the cold call. They promised you could change your answers if you wanted. You can play along if you like, but watch out not to share too much because they might dig up more info through your mobile number.

It appears they’re presenting themselves as an Ipsos survey. They mentioned a name and inquired about my experiences related to retail in household products and financial services over the past couple of years. They were particularly keen on obtaining my email address to validate their cold call information, assuring me that I could retract any decisions regarding their queries. Another one of those survey calls? Might be scammers fishing for personal details, hard to tell! Best not to risk it and just block the number. Bit of a shame though, could well be a legit cold caller trying to make ends meet in tough times, but we’ve got to be careful.

Anyone who rings but refuses to leave a voicemail feels a bit suspicious to me. This number gave me a bell yesterday evening just before 8pm (Friday). I didn’t pick up but the moment my answerphone started, they went quiet and hung up. Someone mentioned in a comment that it’s just a market survey and nothing dodgy. Well, even if that’s the case, they really shouldn’t be calling if the number is on the TPS register, surely.
